I visited the Hobbiton Movie Set Tour to close out my visit to New Zealand in mid December. I will admit that I was not the biggest fan of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogies, but after visiting this movie set in outside of the town of Matamata that represents the fantasy world of Hobbiton, in The Shire, the home of Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, and Samwise Gamgee, I was more of a fan of Hobbiton and the Lord of the Rings series! Whether you have seen the movies or not, the Hobbiton Movie Set Tour is amazing!
Beyond the main highlight of Hobbiton, I also visited a conservation area in the north of the country to learn about the nature and wildlife in the area.
