Hanoi Vietnam | Old Quarter | Hoa Loa Prison | Maison Centrale

In January I visited Vietnam. This video covers my last day and a half in Hanoi. During this time I continued my exploration into the complicated history of Vietnam by visiting Hoa Lo Prison and looked into the present day from the historic Old Quarter of Hanoi.

I visited the Hoa Lo Prison, which is also known as Maison Centrale during French colonization American soldiers referred to the prison as the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War.

The following morning before I headed to the airport, I teamed up with a local photographer for a street photography tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Some of my photos from this tour are available as prints. Visit https://tinyurl.com/y6bqz8sf for more info.

If you’d like to know more about the conflict in Vietnam’s history, check out the Ken Burns documentary titled The Vietnam War. It has been available for streaming on PBS and at times on Netflix.
