World War II in Philippines: Corregidor Island | General Douglas MacArthur

I visited Manila Philippines at the end of 2019. This video is a summary of my visit to Corregidor Island in The Philippines. Exploring World War II history on the island, I was able to see where General MacArthur left the Philippines and later declared “I Shall Return”.

Other World War II highlights on the island: I was able to explore the Malinta Tunnel complex where American and Filipino soldiers bravely stood their ground at Corregidor as long as they could in the early stages of war. I saw the ruins of Mile Long Barracks and other war torn structures. I visited a number of war and peace memorials on Corregidor Island including the Filipino Heroes Memorial and Japanese Peace Garden and a museum covering the Pacific War in The Philippines.

I hope that you enjoyed this video about my visit to Corregidor Island. Let me know if you have been to the Philippines, if you learned something new, or if you enjoy learning about war history?
